Peeping Tom Enters Sparrow Run Home, Fondles 15-Year-Old-Girl

A Sparrow Run man has been arrested by police after breaking into a neighboring home and sexually assaulting a teen inside.

New Castle County Police say that Soloman Royal Lane, 29, went to the victim’s home at about 2 p.m. on Thursday and watched the 15-year-old girl through a window, eventually entering the home through an unlocked sliding door.

The victim told police that she was sleeping on the couch when she suddenly felt someone fondling her. When she awoke, she noticed that it was Lane, her neighbor.

She was was able to arm herself with a kitchen knife and defend herself from further attacks before the suspect ran out of the back sliding door.

Lane was later arrested without incident and has been arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Prison after failing to post $9,000 cash bail.

Investigators discovered Lane has been peeping through several windows of homes in Sparrow Run since January 2009. In those cases, some were reported to police, while others went unreported as he was not spotted by witnesses. Lane has been charged with the events from yesterday, however police add that additional charges are pending further investigation.
