Revised High School Basketball Tournament Schedule Released

Due to the effects of Monday’s storm, the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association have pushed back both the boys and girls state high school basketball tournaments.

All 16 first-round games will be postponed until Thursday, where they will all take place at 7 p.m. Locally, the only exception is Caravel, where a doubleheader will occur with the Caravel girls taking on St. Georges at 6 p.m., followed by the Caravel boys matchup with Concord 20 minutes after the completion of the girls game, tentatively scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

According to DIAA Executive Director Kevin Charles, it’s anticipated most schools will be back in session by Wednesday. The extra day will allow a day of practice for all schools and allow an extra day for travel conditions to improve.

The revised schedule will be as follows:

The 2nd round for both the boys and girls basketball tournaments will take place on Saturday, March 7.
