This Day in Delaware History:
1910 Blue Hen basketballer Liston A. Houston scored 52 points in a game against Lebanon Valley.
1927 Winds of 65-70 MPH, the highest in 20 years, caused very high tides up and down the state. Both entrances of the C & D Canal were damaged.
1985 The Most Rev. Robert E. Mulvee was named Bishop of the Wilmington Catholic Diocese.
1994 The last meal was served at the Glasgow Arms, a favorite local restaurant for years.
